Astrid appears in the December 2007 episode "Voyage of the Damned" of the BBC series Doctor Who. She is introduced aboard the starship Titanic as a waitress from the planet Sto with a dream of seeing the stars. Meeting the Tenth Doctor aboard Titanic, she quickly befriends him. She accompanies the Doctor on a trip organised by Titanic's resident historian, Mr Copper, teleporting with some Titanic passengers down to Earth where she and the Doctor meet Wilfred Mott. Upon their return to the ship, she and the Doctor discover the plan of Max Capricorn to destroy the Titanic, its passengers and the nearby people of Earth with his villainous angelic robots, the Host. As they attempt to save the ship, Astrid grows increasingly fond of the Doctor, kissing him as part of what she assures is an "old tradition" on Sto. In the episode's climax, Astrid sacrifices herself to save the Doctor from Capricorn by driving Capricorn off a platform with a forklift truck and both appear to fall to their peril. Later, realising Astrid was still wearing a teleporter bracelet, the Doctor attempts to recall her atoms in an attempt to resurrect her, but there is insufficient power aboard the damaged Titanic to do so. Astrid reappears spectral and bewildered, as the Doctor kisses her a goodbye before freeing her sentient atoms (described as "stardust") to roam space as energy. That's where Astrid entered her Multiverse!Verse. How she was restored to life is here . There are however, a few 'minor' complications that have yet to come to light. She's a meta-crisis of sorts, and the gaps in her atoms were filled in by one Doctor's memories (canon!Ten), and the other's 'absence' of companion memories (Watch!Ten). Watch!Ten inadvertantly filled in the gaps with what he 'hoped' she would be, what he wanted her to be. They had both given their everything into reconstructing her, connecting with each other psychically and consequently there is a tiny bit of Time Lord in Astrid, which so far has given her weak psychic ability... Paradisa!Verse: Canon point of entry is months after the Doctor released her sentient atoms to wander the universe, but her loss is that she doesn't remember dying, or that last kiss or anything after she went over the edge with Max Capricorn. She arrives at Paradisa thinking that 'something' or 'someone' stopped her fall. Paradisa!Astrid is for the most part, happy, energetic and just grateful that the castle has given her a chance to be with the Doctor. She doesn't let the knowledge of knowing that this is it - her final days - bring her down too much and she's trying her hardest to just enjoy what she has been given.
